I am adding this piece now because I'm happy to be doing a new book cover ( [link] ) for the mysterious poet-philosopher Hakim Bey ( [link] ), after all these years. Axiom Records ( [link] ) did pay me for this CD cover based on the book cover I did as a labor of love. Of all the work I have published, that book cover ( [link] ) has had the most interesting effect on my life. Virtually all of my CD and book cover jobs are the result of the underground reputation and wide dissemination of that one little book. For certain sub-cultures "temporary autonomous zone" has become a standard vocabulary term, and if you Google Hakim Bey and T.A.Z. you could get lost for weeks following interesting trails. Right after Bill Laswell read T.A.Z. he called me up and gave me the first of 20-some CD cover jobs I've gotten from him over the years. This one came along a couple of years later.
